How does one check the fiber fault location using the Fiber Checker?
The Fiber Checker is for checking defects of a fiber cable. In the following video, it can be seen that the Fiber Checker emits a visible 650nm wavelength red laser light through optical fiber cables. The Fiber Checker has both a CW and Pulse mode; if there are breaks or defects in the fiber the light will be refracted, thus creating a bright glow around the faulty area.
How does one measure the Insertion Loss using the Source and Power Meter?
The Power Meter is mainly used for checking the signal output power. The light source provides several wavelengths for testing the fiber equipment in an optical network and FTTx construction by changing the interchangeable light source modules. The Source tool is usually used together with the Power meter. Liverage's Bluetooth Power Meter and Bluetooth Power Meter's APP can support both iOS and Android systems. Operation is simple - first connect the optical fiber to the power meter and light source. Then turn on Bluetooth and use the Bluetooth Power Meter's APP. There one can set the reference values, the test insertion loss; thereafter the current power and maximum / minimum insertion loss will be displayed on the screen.
